Android’s newest update 6.0 Marshmallow will enable users to translate within certain popular apps. For users to access the integrated translation feature they must have Google’s translation app installed.
Apps such as LinkedIn, TripAdvisor, and WhatsApp are amongst the most popular apps that will display the newest translation feature. People will be able to highlight text within the app and the option for ‘translate’ will appear in the toolbar, along with the normal ‘copy’, ‘paste’, etc. In WhatsApp people will be able to write in their native language and translation will occur for the recipient.
Users will have the option of translating in 90 different languages. The latest translation integration will surely be of benefit to Google Translates already large database of users. There has been no talk of when or if these integrations will be available to Apple iPhone and iPad users.
